ABOUT CARLA-JOY SISCO
Hi, I'm Carla-Joy Sisco

MY BACKGROUND
Carla-Joy began her career in finance before dedicating herself to the nonprofit and public sectors. At the University of Pennsylvania, she contributed as a Teaching Assistant a nd Office Manager, focusing on curriculum development and contract management.
As a co-founder of a nonprofit for at-risk youth, Carla-Joy expanded her initiatives to include transitional housing for single parents recovering from addiction. For over 13 years, she has called Texas home, starting her public service journey in San Antonio, where she empowered residents to save on utility bills as a supervisor for the CPS Energy Community Utility Engagement Program.
Carla-Joy’s volunteer efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic earned her a medal, and her commitment to social causes extends to feeding the homeless, teaching life skills in detention centers, and mentoring students.
With over 40 years of community service experience, Carla-Joy is passionate about uplifting underrepresented communities. She is a devoted mother of three and enjoys spending time with her family and dog, Max.

MY EDUCATION BACKGROUND
Carla-Joy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, a degree in Spanish Literature, and a Teaching Certificate from Harvard University. She has also completed master's-level courses in Developmental Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, along with Project Management and Management Academy coursework.
